In the most recent past, Simon has worked at Project and Development Management level on numerous subsea tie-back developments in the capacity of both the 3rd party host delivering a solution and that of the 3rd party Operator looking for a ‘host’ solution.
With experience in engaging with Senior Executives, Commercial and Legal departments to ensure that the appropriate strategy for any project or development is set and implemented, Simon ensures the appropriate skill set within the team is in place to deliver, whilst complying with all value-adding assurance and governance processes.
Steve Martin - Technical DirectorSteve has worked in the Oil and Gas industry for nearly 30 years in Aberdeen and overseas. With a process engineering background Steve has had experience at all stages of design as well as practical ‘hands on’ construction and commissioning work. He has applied this knowledge across the full project development supply chain from appraise to execute. From early in his career Steve’s experience, aptitude to team build and ability to take responsibility to deliver, gave opportunities in a Project Management role.
Steve has worked in Operator, Consultancy and Service Provider roles and has significant experience of Governance systems and the requirements of Partner liaison and peer review (both as peer and presenter). In more recent years Steve has worked predominantly in the Engineering Manager role within an Operator Project Management Team delivering projects, but has complimentary corporate knowledge having sat on the Board as Operations Director for IGL Engineering and Poyry UK.

Steve has an enthusiastic approach to all tasks and offers a problem solving mentality with a bias towards practical, economic solutions.
Sam McAdam - Construction34 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry UK and abroad, delivering major green build projects “fixed price” including construction, commissioning, hook-up and start-up. Managing large scale brown field modification projects and shut-downs. Working both in contractor and operator organisations in Europe, Russia, Asia, North Africa and Middle East, and Artic region. Performing as Construction, Project, Contract and In-Country management levels. Project solutions: – jackets, decks, semi submersibles, jack-ups, sub-sea manifolds, tension leg platforms and FPSO’s, oil terminal expansions, heliport, runway and terminal accommodation. Four times in Sam’s career he was required to upgrade or build the fabrication yard simultaneously with the main project build. Robert Buchanan - StructuralRobert is a technical authority on offshore structures, for both the oil and gas and offshore wind industries and has been involved in all phases of system life cycle design and integrity; from initial concept, through detail design and operations, to decommissioning. He has a thorough understanding of industry codes, best practices and is an expert in the application of advanced structural analysis techniques. Over the past 9 years he has worked in front end consultancy and has been involved in numerous conceptual developments at appraise and select stages. During this time he has worked on a diverse range of projects and topics, extending beyond a purely structural focus to include project management, M&A, decommissioning and renewables.
Previously, Robert was Head of Amec’s Advanced Engineering Services (AES) providing Structural Integrity Management (SIM), development of Risk Based Inspection Planning (RBI) and advanced analysis of offshore structures. Notable landmarks during this time were the detailed design of the Britannia Satellites, Shearwater ‘C’ and Ringhorne jackets; the Brent LTFD in which he played a key role in the development and application of advanced analyses techniques for the optimization of strengthening and mitigation of explosion risks; and the Sakhalin II project where he was responsible for the seismic design of the topsides, for which he won “Best Paper” at OTC 2005 and was awarded a diploma from the IStructE.

John Bowie - MechanicalJohn has worked in the oil and gas industry, both in the UK and abroad, for over 26 years. With a background in mechanical engineering, John also possess significant experience as a project engineer and project manager complimented with an MSc in this field. Roles held encompass a variety of practical applications and levels of seniority ranging from site manager on a Ram Rig upgrade project to project engineer, mechanical engineer and package delivery manager on a number of other projects.
John has a working knowledge of piping, platform layouts and corrosion engineering aspects as well as specialising in mechanical engineering and capital equipment package management. John has worked for a variety of engineering contractors and oil and gas operators while involved in major projects including the Borgland Dolphin Rig Upgrade construction, WaGE EPCC, Brae Alpha Power Generation Upgrade FEED and EPCC, Devenick Tie Back to Brae B FEED & EPCC, Flyndre Cawdor tie back to Clyde FEED and EPCC, and the Solsort BLP to South Arne concept study. John is currently studying towards an MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering.
